BY-LAWS
NOTE: These by-laws come into force for the competition commencing 2 Feb 2009.The exceptions are by-law 1.5, requiring teams to have six players in order to nominate for the competition and by-law 6.2 which changes the representative content rule. These rules will be enforced from the start of the next competition, commencing in October 2009.

BY-LAWS
The By-laws control the domestic competition of the Springwood & Districts Basketball Association. All registered and affiliated members of the S&DBA are bound by these by-laws. To accept registration or affiliation with the S&DBA is to agree to abide by the By-laws of the Association.
All competitions will be run according to the by-laws of the Springwood & Districts
Basketball Association Inc. (a member of Basketball NSW), specific to competitions held at the Blaxland High School & Community Sports Centre.
The by-laws may be modified by a motion passed by the Board of the S&DBA.
1.1 All players must be registered before playing in any trial or competition game. Any team playing an unregistered player will lose their competition points for that game and receive a $50.00 fine.
S&DBA will make every effort to advise members when their registration is due however the onus of proof of registration and/or affiliation lies with the player. Any player may be asked to produce registration forms, receipt or numbers within 24 hours. It is the responsibility of the player/team to ensure that all team members are currently registered at all times during the competition.
1.2 The S&DBA committee will be responsible for the setting of the registration fees annually.
1.3 Referees, Coaches, Managers and other officials of the S&DBA must be registered.
1.4 Unregistered players are not insured and play at their own risk.
1.5 Teams must have six registered or affiliated players to nominate in the competition.
2.1 All players must be correctly attired to take the court. Any player out of uniform will result in that team not receiving points for the game, although the game will not be awarded as a forfeit to the opposing team.
2.2 Each player in each team must wear the uniform applicable to his or her team.
2.3 Teams must notify the S&DBA office prior to ordering any sets of uniforms to ensure that there is no duplication or clash with other teams in that competition or clash with any S&DBA officials uniforms.
2.4 Teams must be in full uniform by the end of the fourth week from the start of each competition. There will be no exceptions, even if the opposing team agrees.
2.5 Representative uniforms, or uniforms similar in design to representative uniforms may not be used as team uniforms in the domestic competition
2.6 UNIFORM SHORTS
2.6.1 All shorts must be black in colour or of the same design & colour as the singlet.
2.6.2 Playing shorts must not have pockets, zippers or buckles.
2.6.3 Bicycle pants/skins may be worn under the shorts.
2.6.4 Only one logo is allowed on a pair of shorts.
2.6.5 Any logo carried on the shorts is to be no larger than 65mm by 90mm.
2.7 UNIFORM SINGLET
2.7.1 All team singlets must be the same colour and similar design. The S&DBA retains the right to decide whether a design is appropriate and to what extent any variation in the design of a team’s singlets is acceptable.
2.7.2 All team singlets must be numbered – 4 to 15; 20 to 25; 30 to 35; 40 to 45 and 50 to 55 inclusive. Temporary numbers made from electrical tape or similar material will not be permitted after the fourth week of competition (except for a player filling in for that team for a game). The team will be regarded as being out of uniform.
2.7.3 T-shirts worn underneath singlets must be the same colour as the main singlet colour.
2.7.4 Singlets do not need to be tucked in for domestic competition.
2.7.5 Sponsors logos & names, team name, player names can be printed on singlets, but must not interfere with the singlet numbers.
2.7.6 For junior competitions all singlets should be reversible. The reverse colour is to be the same for all team members. If a team decides to have non reversible uniforms it is the responsibility of that team to be able to provide an alternative uniform without notice
2.7.7 Singlets of an older design may be used if they are substantially the same design as the current uniform
2.7.8 Uniform numbers must be easily to read.
SENIOR TEAM GAMES – CLASH OF COLOURS
2.8. In the event of a clash of colours, the first mentioned team on the draw shall provide alternate colour singlets.
JUNIOR TEAM COLOURS – CLASH OF COLOURS
2.9 In the event of a clash of colours, the first mentioned team on the draw shall wear the reversible colours or wear an alternative singlet that they provide.
3. TIMING OF GAMES – regular season and finals
3.1 COMPETITION GAMES
3.1.1 Games will not commence before the stated time.
3.1.2 All games from U/8’s to U/22’s and all Senior games (including Veteran, Mixed & Open), will consist of two twenty minute halves.
3.1.3 The clock will not stop except for a Referee’s time out in normal competition.
3.1.4 Any player fouled out or disqualified must be substituted immediately.
3.1.5. Each team is allowed two time outs per half.
3.1.6.The duration of a time out is one minute. The referees will call the teams back onto the court after 50 seconds.
3.1.7. No time outs may be taken in the last three minutes of a normal competition game. If a time out is taken that would extend into the last three minutes of a game teams will be called back onto the court when the clock shows three minutes and 10 seconds.
3.2 SEMI-FINALS
3.2.1 There will be no semi-finals or finals for Under 8 mixed or same gender games.
3.2.2 The Under 10 competition will play under normal competition timing i.e. two twenty minute halves with a running clock
3.2.3 Under 12 and all older age group games will stop for free throws, time-outs and every whistle in the last three minutes of the second half.
3.3 FINALS
3.3.1 The Under 10 competition will play under normal competition timing. i.e. two twenty minute halves with a running clock
3.3.2 Under 12, 14 & 16 division two & lower games will stop for three throws, time-outs and every whistle in the last three minutes of the second half.
3.3.3 All division one, all Under 18, 22 and all senior games will be fully timed fifteen minute halves.
3.3.4 In the event that there is only one division in a said age group, the timing regulations shall be as stated in by-law 3.3.2
3.4. INJURIES, DELAYS AND GAME TIMING (see also section 13)
3.4.1 If a game is stopped at any stage due to player injury, play will restart when it is safe to do so from the time and score at which the stoppage occurred.
3.4.2 A result shall be recorded for any game of 20 minutes total playing time.
3.4.3 If the game is unable to be finished by the start of the next time slot (or by the end of the scheduled finish if the last game of the day) and 20 minutes or more of play has elapsed the team ahead on the scoresheet will be declared the winner.
3.4.4 If the game cannot proceed and less than 20 minutes of the game has been played then the next game between the teams will be classed as a double point round.
3.4.5 If a game cannot be completed and there is no further game between the two teams the previous game between the teams will be classed as a double point round.
4.1 The Referee in consultation with bench officials may amend scoresheets, if a discrepancy is found at half time or immediately after the game concludes & the error can be clearly recalled & confirmed.
4.2 Incidents such as an injury to a player or official, the calling of disqualifying fouls or a possible offence against the laws of basketball should be noted on the scoresheet by the officials.
4.3 Other than in 4.1 and 4.2 above, no change to the scoresheet should be made at half time or at the end of the game except to amend calculation errors or delete players’ names from the sheet who are not present to take the court.
5. FINALS SERIES – Including forfeits, player and team qualifications
5.1 All finals (semis and finals) are to be played on the schedule dates and times shown. Exceptional circumstances may be considered if put in writing to the S&DBA committee.
5.2 Prior notification of a forfeit of a final will lead to the next placed team being nominated to take its place. The Association will make every effort to contact the next placed team but usually at least three working days notice must be given for this to occur.
5.3. If less than three days notice is given for a forfeit of the final then the team already qualified for the Final will be declared Premiers and the 3rd placed team declared as Runners Up.
5.4. For any Semi-finals or Final a team must have four qualified and registered players to take the court.
5.4.1. If a team does not have four qualified players and this is known before the final series is played their place will be taken by the next ranked team.
5.4.2. If a team does not have four qualified players present at the time the game is due to start rule 9.1 shall apply. After the game is declared a forfeit rule 5.2 will apply for semi finals and rule 5.3. shall apply for finals.
5.5. Any team who plays an unfinancial or unregistered player in any finals game will have their game classed as a loss.
5.6 PLAYER AND TEAM QUALIFICATIONS FOR FINALS
5.6.1. A player must play 50% of competition games with a team to be eligible to play in
the finals series. For the purposes of qualification, from the start of the competition, Byes, No Point Games and No Games (Cancelled Games) will be included. Double Point Games and Double Point Rounds will qualify as one game. When a team wins a game on forfeit, only those players on the team game sheet will be noted as having played that game. The team that forfeits shall have no players recorded as present.
It is the responsibility of players to ensure that names on scoresheets are legible, identifiable and to have registration numbers available.
5.6.2. During the regular season teams will be awarded competition points for each scheduled game, receiving 3 points for a win, 2 for a draw, 1 for a loss and 0 points for a forfeited game. At the end of the season the four teams with the most competition points will advance to the semi finals.
5.6.3. In the event of competition points being level at the end of a competition, finals standing will be determined as follows:
The team winning the majority of games played between the teams or, if this is equal, the greater difference of points for and against in games between the teams, or if this is equal, the greater number of points scored in games between the teams.
5.6.4. For the purpose of working out standings a forfeit will be classed, as a game result of 20-0 unless the game was in progress, in which case the score will stand if that team forfeiting was in arrears at the time of the forfeit.
5.6.5. A win in a double point round will count as two wins.
5.7. An injured player may still qualify for the Finals Series if:
5.7.1 The player was a nominated member of that team before the injury took place.
5.7.2. The player provides a doctor’s certificate covering the period of the injury.
5.8. A player, referee or coach who misses a domestic game while representing the S&DBA in an officially sanctioned activity will qualify on that day for playing in the S&DBA competition.
6.1 NO DUNKING RULE
6.1.1 Dunking is not permitted during official warm-ups or games as it is potentially dangerous to players and damaging to equipment
6.1.2 Grasping the ring or violent dunking is not permitted at any time.
6.1.3 Hanging on to the ring is not permitted at any time.
6.1.4 Dunking on, grasping or hanging on Mini ball rings is not permitted at any time.
6.1.5 Hanging on or grabbing at the Net is not permitted at any time.
6.1.6 During games a technical foul may be awarded for a player that the referee considers to be in breach of the no dunking policy.
6.1.7 If the offense occurs outside a game the official may either:
· Commence the game with a technical foul
· Report the person to the Board who may suspend the person for up to one month.
6.2 REPRESENTATIVE PLAYER CONTENT.
6.2.1 Junior competition teams are limited to a maximum of 10 rep points. Division 1 rep player are worth 4 points, all other representative players are worth three points.
6.2.2 The representative content rule does not apply to teams playing up an age group. . (See also 10.4)
6.2.3 Any representative player (junior or senior) playing in the senior competition (including Under 22’s) must play division one if more than one division is available. The points system does not apply in the senior competition.
6.2.4 It is the responsibility of teams to ensure that they are not in breach of the representative content rule, including for players joining the team after the start of the domestic season and for players filling in for any game in which the team is short of players.
7.1 The junior competition shall include all age groups up to Under 20’s. Foran Under 22’s competition senior by-laws will apply but junior fees will be charged.
7.2. All junior teams up to Under 18’s must have a responsible adult in attendance at all
games (usually the coach or manager). In the event of an incident/injury the name of the responsible adult is to be noted on the Scoresheet.
7.3 MAN TO MAN DEFENCE
7.3.1 Man on man defence must be played in the Under 14 and younger age groups. Zone Defence will not be permitted.
7.3.2 Coaches that suspect the opposition to be playing Zone Defence should have a registered Team Official to approach the Referee Controller for adjudication. If the Referees Controller reaches a decision that Zone Defence is being played the following procedure will be in place.
7.3.3 Firstly a reminder to the Coach that all players must play Man to Man Defence or a bench technical foul will be awarded.
7.3.4 A bench technical foul for each further violation of the No Zone Rule. The coach shall not be ejected after a second technical foul if one or both of the technical fouls was awarded for a breach of the no zone rule..
7.4 UNDER 10 COMPETITION
7.4.1 All Under 8 to Under 10 (Miniball) competitions shall be played using an eight (8) foot ring.
7.4.2 A size 5 ball is used.
7.4.3 The cross court rule does not apply.
7.4.4 Free throws are from the dotted line.
7.4.5 All players must take the court each half.
7.5. MERCY RULE.
7.5.1In junior competitions no team is allowed to win by more than 40 points. Once the difference between two teams on the scoresheet reaches 40 points no further score shall be recorded for the winning team until the difference drops below 40 points. It is expected that coaches of dominant teams will use an easy game as an opportunity to build the skills of their players by telling players to dribble with their non dominant hand, changing roles within the team, setting up nominated players for a shot and so on. It shall be noted on the scoresheet that the mercy rule has been applied.
7.6. RING HEIGHT AND BALL SIZES
7.6.1 Under 11 & higher age group competitions shall be played using a ten (10) foot ring.
7.6.2 Under 11/12 age groups use a Size 5 ball (Where there is a Mixed Under 12/14 competition, then a Size 6 ball shall be used)
7.6.3 Under 11/12 age groups shall shoot free throws from the dotted line (Where there is a Mixed Under 12/14 competition, only teams qualifying to nominate in Under 12’s shall be permitted to shoot free throws from the dotted line).
7.6.4 Under 13/14 age groups shall use a Size 6 ball, with all normal playing rules applying (except that zone defence is not allowed).
7.6.5 Under 15 & higher age groups in the men’s competition shall use a Size 7 ball, with all normal playing rules applying
7.6.6 Under 15 & higher age groups in the women’s competition shall use a Size 6 ball, with all normal playing rules applying
7.7. Child Protection Policy – The S&DBA requires all Coaches/Managers to comply with all Child protection policies and procedures set by the Association and to comply with relevant legislation.
8.1 Players in the senior (opens) competitions must be at least 16 at the start of the season.
8.2. All teams in the senior competitions are to provide personnel for bench duty and as duty referees as determined by the S&DBA (see also section 9 – Forfeits, duty and penalties)
8.3. SENIOR MIXED COMPETITIONS
8.3.1 Male players only are permitted in the key area at the scoreboard end and female players only are permitted in the key area at the non-scoreboard end.
8.3.2 In the event of a dispute regarding ends, the referee shall toss for ends at the commencement of a game.
8.3.3 No more than two male players and no more than three female players shall be allowed on the court from each team at any one time.
8.3.4 A game shall be classed as a forfeit if a team has no male or no female players remaining on the court. The score will stand if the team forfeiting is behind or be classified as 20-0 if the team forfeiting is ahead.
8.3.5 Any other matter relating to competitions are to be determined at the discretion of the S&DBA committee.
9.1 FORFEITS AND NUMBER OF PLAYERS (see also mixed competitions for specific rules)
9.1.1 A team must have a minimum of four eligible and registered/affiliated players in full uniform at the start of the game. At least three of these players must be nominated for that team i.e. regular players on that team. A maximum of two fill in players is allowed. The names and registration numbers of any fill in or new players must be recorded on the score sheet by the Court Controller before the player can take the court.
9.1.2 A player must arrive and be available to play before the second half of a game commences.
9.1.3 If a team does not have four players ready to take the court at the scheduled starting time of the game, the bench officials will start the clock and the opposition will receive 2 points for each minute or part thereof, that the team is late. The maximum number of points that can be given to a team under this by-law is eight. The ninth/tenth point
constitutes a forfeit. (i.e.: The game is deemed a forfeit after five minutes has elapsed).
9.1.4 The team who is present & ready to take the court shall be deemed to be the winner by forfeit and awarded 20 points on the final score of the scoresheet.
9.1.5 A team forfeiting a game shall not be awarded any competition points for that game unless the forfeit is due to less than two players remaining on the court after the start of a game. The game will then be classed as a loss. A team forfeiting a game due to insufficient players ready to take the court 5 minutes after the scheduled start time will also be fined $50.00.
9.1.6 A team that forfeits a game due to insufficient players being present may offer to play a ‘friendly’ game. If a friendly game is acceptable to the opposition no forfeit fine will be charged. The game shall still be recorded as a forfeit on the scoresheet and no competition points will be awarded to the forfeiting team. Rule 9.1.3 will still apply. The scoresheet will be marked by the officials to indicate that a friendly game was played.
9.1.7 If no players turn up to the game and the team has not given notice of a forfeit rule 9.1.5 shall apply
9.1.8 Any team unable to make a scheduled game and who provides at least seven (7) days notice to an official of the basketball office, will be classified as losing the game. The forfeit fine will still apply, however no competition points will be lost.
9.1.9 If a team forfeits three (3) games, they may be disqualified from the competition and will not be allowed to participate in the current competition any further.
9.1.10 All players in any team liable to forfeit fines will be deemed unfinancial and ineligible to play. In order for that player to enter or play in any competition, his/her portion of the fines must be paid
9.2. DUTY
9.2.1 It has been deemed by the S&DBA committee, that all U/22 and senior teams provide one person each to do their teams bench duty, for the game that their team is playing in.
9.2.2 All Senior, Opens & Veterans teams will also need to make available one person to referee when rostered to carry out Duty
9.2.3 Failure to provide two (2) persons when rostered on for duty will result in loss of game points and may incur a fine of $50.00.
9.2.4 A badged referee will be given priority in controlling games over any non badged referee.
9.3. PENALTIES
9.3.1 Playing a player not properly notified on team nomination, or added to that team through Players’ Nomination book. Loss of points for all competition games in which the player has participated.
9.3.2 Playing an unregistered, ineligible or suspended player. Loss of points for all competition games in which that player has participated and a $50.00 fine.
9.3.3 Any team who fields a player under someone else’s name will forfeit each game in which that the player has participated & incur a $50.00 fine.
9.3.4 Playing out of uniform. This decision is at the discretion of the Referee Controller Loss of game points for that game.
9.3.5 Failure to pay fines. No game points awarded until fine is paid. After three weeks the team will be removed from the competition.
9.4. APPEAL AGAINST FINES
Any fine must be paid within seven (7) days of the fine being notified. Any team playing a player with outstanding fines will receive no competition points until the fine is paid. Teams and players have the right to appeal in writing to the S&DBA committee. However, the fine must be paid within the seven (7) days in order for any appeal to be heard.
10.1 A team may draw a player from a lower division, but a player may only play a maximum of two (2) games in the higher division before being deemed a permanent member for the higher division. This player cannot then return to the lower division.
10.2. Teams may draw from a lower age group. A player from a younger age group does not lose the right to play in that age group by playing games in an older competition.
10.2.1. Any player filling in for a higher age group to overcome a temporary shortage must have an (*) after their name on the game scoresheet.
10.3 Players are not able to play in more than one team in the same grade or age group of any competition with the exception of 10.1 above.
10.4 The S&DBA Board have the right to grade or re-grade any player or team to another age group or division.
10.5 All teams must supply a list of players, addresses, phone numbers, registration numbers and other relevant data with the nominated grade on the relevant form prior to the start of the competition. Players will need to provide proof of date of birth before registration.
10.6. New players joining a team during the competition must be added to the team, by supplying their full details through the Player Nomination book, prior to the commencement of that player playing with the team.
10.7 Team and player nomination fees will be set by the S&DBA Board, prior to the commencement of any competition.
10.8. Players may be asked to provide proof of registration before joining a team or filling in at any game.
10.9 Any player nominated to play in any senior competition must be Sixteen (16) years of age or older.
11.1. Teams shall sit on either side of the bench, in the area immediately outside the marked lines three metres either side. Only substitutes ready to enter the game are permitted to sit between the marked lines and the bench. It is the Coach/Team Captains responsibility to ensure that only team officials/followers/ supporters are seated in the area immediately adjacent to the marked lines.
11.2 Teams on the top of the Scoresheet are to be seated at the Scoreboard end of each court.
11.3. Teams are responsible for the behavior of supporters.
12.1 Under no circumstances can a player participate in playing Basketball whilst he/she has a Plaster cast on any part of their body.
12.2 Players and on court officials are required to wear suitable footwear.
12.3 NAIL RULE
12.3.1 Fingernails are to be checked by the Referees before the commencement of the games.
12.3.2 Long natural fingernails, acrylic fingernails and taping of fingernails will not be allowed.
12.4 HAIR RULE
12.4.1 Plaits are not allowed to be below shoulder length.
12.4.2 No plastic or metal Bobby pins or Hair clips.
12.5.JEWELLERY RULE
12.5.1 No Jewellery is allowed (Plain wedding bands are permitted if taped with soft tape).
12.5.2 New pierced ears cannot be taped, and earrings must be removed.
12.5.3 No earrings of any type are allowed.
All officials should be courteous, polite and professional when enforcing these rules.
13.1 It is the responsibility of the coach, manager of an injured player or a player injured during a game to make sure that the injury is recorded on the back of the scoresheet, with the player’s name, registration number and witnessed by two officials. This is a requirement for any insurance claim that may be made.
NOTE: Insurance Claim Benefits are limited. Details are available from the Court Controller or via the BasketballNSW website
13.2. An accident report form needs to be completed by the player or a parent as son as possible. Forms are available from the office.
13.3 Any injured player should be removed from the court as soon as possible unless there is any risk of injury of a more serious nature. (E.G. Back or Neck injury)
13.4 The clock should be stopped while action on any injury is taken.
13.5 The Referee Controller needs to be informed of any injury.
14.1 A protest or complaint, to be heard, must be lodged within four (4) working days of the incident, in writing, signed by the captain, coach or manager and addressed to the Stadium Administrator
14.2 All steps should be taken to resolve any protests/complaints at the time of the incident, by firstly notifying the Referee of the incident. In the event of an unsatisfactory outcome, the Court/Referee Controller should be notified. Once all these steps have been taken, and you are unsatisfied with the outcome, then By-law 14.1 is your avenue to take the matter further.
15.1 Any player, coach or team follower disqualified (including a coach disqualified after three (3) bench technical fouls) during a game must leave the court area. Any refusal to leave should be notified to the Court Controller who has the the right to forfeit the offending player’s team and on a further refusal to impose an automatic two (2) week suspension on that person. Any subsequent refusal must be referred to the S&DBA committee.
15.2 Any player, coach or team follower disqualified during a game must appear before the S&DBA Judiciary Tribunal. The Referee or Duty Official should note the disqualification on the back of the scoresheet and must complete an Incident Report immediately after the completion of the game and lodge it with the Court Controller. It is the disqualified person’s responsibility to supply their name, address and registration number. The disqualified person shall be notified in writing of the date of his/her Tribunal hearing.
15.3 A player may play until the Tribunal is heard. In the event of a suspension and subsequent appeal, a player is not permitted to play pending the appeal hearing.
15.4 The S&DBA has the right to take whatever action it deems necessary to ensure the game of Basketball and the S&DBA are not brought into disrepute by any team, player, coach, manager, official or supporter.
Such action can be taken by reference of any matter to the Tribunal or to an S&DBA committee or official of the Association or by direct action by a delegated official or the Board of the S&DBA.
15.5 Any S&DBA official may report any person to the S&DBA Board, committees or Tribunal to consider appropriate action.
16.1 The S&DBA support and abide by the Codes of Conduct, as set down by Basketball NSW for Players, Coaches, Parents, Spectators and Referees
16.2 Any breaches of these Codes of Conduct, can result in disciplinary action by the S&DBA committees or Tribunal

For the purpose of these By-Laws, the following definitions shall apply:
1. “AFFILIATED PLAYER” means a player with a primary registration with another association and who has paid an affiliation fee to the S&DBA. Affiliation lasts until the registration at the other Association runs out. If questioned it is the responsibility of the player to be able to prove that they are registered at another association and affiliated with the S&DBA
2. “COMPETITION” refers to any competition conducted by the S&DBA and includes any trial games played and all Semi-finals & Finals
3. “COMPETITION GAME” shall mean any game played including grading games played at the commencement of a competition.
4. “COURT CONTROLLER” shall mean the person appointed by the S&DBA Board to control the payment of fees, checking of registrations and player eligibility during competition times.
5. “ELIGIBLE PLAYER” means a player who has current registration or affiliation, is not under suspension, has no outstanding fines or fees (including their share of team fines and fees) ,is properly nominated to a team in the domestic competition of the S&DBA, does not put that team in breach the representative content rule and who is playing in a competition of the right age group and gender.
6. “JUNIOR COMPETITION”. All competitions up to Under 20’s.
7. “THE REFEREE” shall mean any person duly acting in the capacity of referee for the conduct of the game and the duration of the game as per the Rules of Basketball, including duty referees
8. “REFEREE CONTROLLER” shall mean the person appointed by the S&DBA Board to supervise referees and control games during competition times.
9.“REPRESENTATIVE PLAYER” means any player who has accepted a place on a representative team at S&DBA or any other association. The Association believes that rep points should be allocated to players who have had the experience of playing at the representative level rather than simply being selected for a rep team. A player’s rep points apply in the 2 domestic seasons following the season they played in a rep. team. Rep. points will commence at the beginning of the summer season (Term 4) and last for 12 months.
10. “REGISTERED PLAYER” means a properly registered player with primary registration with the S&DBA. Registered players pay an annual fee set by the Board of the S&DBA. If questioned it is the responsibility of the player to be able to prove that they are registered.
11. “S&DBA” means the Springwood & Districts Basketball Association Inc.
12. “S&DBA OFFICIAL” shall mean any member of the Board, Committees or person formally appointed by the Board, including referees.
13. SEASON NAMES. The winter season, unless otherwise determined by the Board, will cover the second and third school terms of that year. The summer season, unless otherwise determined by the Board, will commence at the start of the fourth school term of the year and run to the end of the first school term of the following year.
14. “SENIOR COMPETITION”. The senior competition is intended primarily for adults. Players must be at least 16. Teams where the majority of the team is eligible for the Junior competition may be excluded from the senior competition or graded to a different division at the discretion of the S&DBA .
15. “THE TRIBUNAL” refers to the Judiciary or Disciplinary Committee as established by the Board of the S&DBA in accordance with the requirements of Basketball New South Wales to investigate allegations of breeches of the Basketball NSW schedule of Offenses and Penalties.
